Cross-platform record has some new winners.
While we are currently knee-deep in next gen it seems that movie tie in games and everyone's favorite sports game series "Madden" are still being released on the previous gen platforms... what this means is that the cross-platform record is now broken. not just by 1 game but by many.
games such as "Ratatouille", "Surf's Up" and "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" and of course Madden NFL 08' are getting released on 11 separate platforms at the exact same time! that's right 11! The Mobile Phone, PC/MAC, PS2, PS3, GCN, Wii, DS, GBA, XBOX, XBOX360 and PSP are all getting versions of the same game. That's the newest ground-breaker for multi-platforming choices in history...
The only games to come near the current multi-platform record were all the arcade ports of the mid 80's including Bugurtime, Q*bert, Donkey Kong, Pac-Man and more managing to get on 7 or 8 different systems. But the old arcade ports weren't all at the same time though, so clearly this new wave of movie tie-ins has the record and probably will for some time.
This useless information is brought to you by John.
