not the kind aimed at toddlers... some of which ARE fun... but I'm talking about stuff like Where in the (insert thing) is Carmen Sandiego, Oregon Tail, Yukon Trail, Amazon Trail, and the like stuff that requires real world knowlege and only minor levels of skill... or at least teach you new things while playing a great game.
I grew up with an Apple II in my home and there were so many great edutainment style games out there... but now they are practically non-existent... are people just no longer interested in this type of thing or is it that the game makers don't want to take the risk anymore?

I do; But I would take it a step further and say I miss the more educational business sims / historic game which we don't seem to get any more; Stuff like Aerobiz, Liberty or Death, Wall Street Kid, etc.
It seems that every game is just a variant of something that already exists now.

man, I miss Hot Dog Stand soooo much lol
actually, there's a few great biz sims and historic games... the History Channel even put out a few over the last 2 decades... given that MOST of the business sims are only on Steam... but quite a few get ported to Xbox... I love said genre and just keep buying them lol
