The Basics
Number of Systems: 8
Number of Games:422
When did you start collecting? Early 80's.
What was your first system? NES
What was your first game? Super Mario Bros.
When did you feel a tipping point from gamer to both gamer and game collector?
One day, it was kind of a lightning bolt hit me. I was like 'This is more than just casual gaming'
What are your goals as a game collector, how have you developed them, and how do you feel about your progress toward them?
I want to be a hardcore collector. Not to compete with anyone, just to know that it is mine main hobby. I just think life is too short and I love gaming, so I am going full fledged into gaming. I feel my progress is coming along very well. I may havehad a lot more games before the fire I had, but I am going to surpass that number [of his original collection]and go way beyond.
How many games, systems, etc. are "enough"?
[One can] never can have too many games or systems in my opinion.
What's your proudest moment as a game collector?
To look through my collection and think how awesome it is to have achieved such a grand part of gaming history.
What's your least proud moment as a game collector?
Spending too much money.
What's your favorite part of your collection?
All the Sonic games. I am a Sonic freak.
What would you like to improve in your collection?
To get back some older of the older games and systems [he lost in a fire].
What would you like to get rid of in your game collection within the next year?
Nothing at all.
What do you think was your best deal while game buying?
Whenever I get a gift card and not spending my money (laughs).
What do you feel is the most valuable and/or rare item in your collection?
These are really far from rare, but the DS games that survived the fire are really RARE to me --made me think that games are made more stable than people are (laughs).
What item in your collection do you feel you overpaid for?
The PlayStation 3.
What do you feel is the strangest or weirdest item in your collection?
MTV Celebrity Death Match (PS1) it's a fun title but kinda weird.
What item(s) do you not have in your collection that people are surprised to hear you don't have?
I'd have to say Probably Resistance: Fall of Man or the Ninja Gaiden titles. People are like, "Dude! you are so missing out!"
Where/how do you store it all?
I have one drawer in my dresser full of Wii games and [the rest are] in a plastic storage box for right now
Is there anyway you'd ever stop collecting?
Probably not -- it would take a near death experience.
Do you have a funny story about your collection?
Not really funny, but my sister sometimes calls me a game-hooch (laughs).
Have you ever had to move your collection to another house? What was it like?
Oh yeah, moving really is a horrible thing for gaming 'cause it takes me forever to find my items
If you're significant other told you no more games, what would you do?
[I'd] tell them to get a-packin' and move -- but I am single so it's all good (smiles).
What percentage of your games are still sealed?
I have about 10 games that are still sealed.
What percentage of your game have you actually played? Completed?
Maybe 20-30%, I'm guessing.
