Hmmm...I'd be all about one of these! I probably don't live close enough to any of the big cities that would host one anyway. Unless, waffle, you ever hear of one of these in St. Louis or KC? That could be doable if anything like that were to ever come through.

I don't keep track of those types of things... but I'd bet Kansas City would get one.

it'd be something you'd want to bring a lot of money to lol Not sure that would be any different than any time I step into a game store, lol. I never have enough money!

I have been to a few; The problem is that while I have found a few things that are exceedingly rare the cost of the not so rare is usually a little inflated.
For example; a few months ago I came across the Super Mario All Stars Wii Version for 149.99, eBay can yield you one for well under 100.

There have been a few times where I have paid well above online "retail" to score something I could get my hands on. Like many of you I am sure I am an original box whore; If I can lay my hands on it and its perfect I will pony up and in that instance the conventions are pretty good. That and getting ahold of common stuff in good condition (IE Captain Skyhawk in a perfect box)

I have been to a few gaming conventions but there always seems to be at least one dealer that is strictly current. Perhaps the conventions I have been to were supposed to be retro and rogue sellers are coming in to crash it....but I really don't give the latter my business anyway. I am mostly retro.

I have never had the opportunity to go to the San Diego Comic Con. Is it possible that a few vendors there might have retro games? Other than that possibility (and of course PAX) I am unsure. My area doesn't get cons like that either (at least not that I know of) so I know how you feel. As for the possibility of meeting up at PAX.......I really wish that I could but unfortunately I am in the midst of burning 4 of my 5 weeks of vacation for this year right now and have the 5th planned for Chicago in July. Next year I will be saving up for a major trip overseas.....
